My mother is a very wise woman.
I wrote her about my progress in passover preparation - what i have done, what i didn't do well enough, what i've forgotten, what i'm worried about not having enough time for...
She responded with this:
I think the most striking thing about Pesach is that it's a mixed blessing.
On one hand it's lovely to be with people and the true celebration of freedom and connection is very moving. On the other hand it's a tremendous amount of work, and the timing can make you crazy. It's really when one has to confront one's own demons on control and rigidity too. - I'm talking about myself, not you!
So try and enjoy the good parts, and blow off the bad. It's a good tool to learn for coping. And when you master it, tell me the trick!
